It was a galley style kitchen straight out of the 70's with some white paint slapped on it and bad faux wood linoleum floors. We went to work on this kitchen the week we moved in to turn it into this....
We did everything ourselves. We tiled the backsplash, added molding to the bottom of the cabinets, put in the farm house sink (which I still miss), made our own concrete countertops, made our own pull out drawers, and I even made the bottom cabinet doors all by myself.
The other thing I loved about this kitchen was the chalkboard pantry door we made. You can see a little sliver of it there in left side of the picture. We ripped out the flooring and painted the cement floors that dark grey color which was fun and urban looking. I loved the open shelving and am still trying to talk the husband into doing it with our current kitchen. By the end of our time in this condo we had renovated just about every square inch. We sold it within 7 days in the worst real estate market in history and I have to think some of that was due to how well we made it look. Here are some more pictures from our condo.
If you have any questions about any of the remodeling or things in this post just contact me or leave a comment. Thanks!
You did a great job! I love all your color choices. The painted cement in the kitchen is an interesting and completely affordable option. I like it. What kind of paint and finish did you have to use to make that work?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful renovation! I love the colors. So calm and welcoming.
ReplyDeleteI am hosting "Saturday is Crafty Day" tomorrow and I'd love it you stopped by!
I can't wait to see your house! It looks so cute!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have an eye for great designs! Your works are remarkable, especially the kitchen. It looks simple, yet very elegant. And yes, I love that baby blue cupboard! It gives the kitchen an interesting but adorable contrast.[Althea Tumlin]
ReplyDeleteWow, that kitchen is one-of-a-kind! Actually, I'm having a hard time choosing between your old and new kitchen. Those two are both fantastic! You're really good with the home designing department. Thanks for sharing this! ++Terence++
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to know where you found the faucet for your farmhouse sink!! It's EXACTLY what I am hoping to find for that sink.
